Three of my cats are from the same litter--born to a stray cat who gave birth on my front porch ten years ago. There were four kittens in that litter, and I found a loving home for one, but rather than give the others to homes I wasn't sure about, I kept them. And what a sweet addition to our family they've been! Moses, Levi, and Delilah look completely different, yet were born together on February 29, 2008. We had a Leap Day that year, and when they were born that evening I knew it would always be easy to remember their birthday.
We also kept the mother cat, Patches, and made sure there would be no future kittens (I'm a BIG believer in pets being spayed and neutered to prevent pitiful homeless kittens and puppies wandering around---that is so heartbreaking). Sadly, Patches lost her battle with cancer a couple of years ago, and we still miss her. But thankfully the "babies" are doing well as they approach turning ten years old. Even though they are now considered senior cats, they still play like kittens at times---especially with a catnip-scented toy! Pets can add so much joy to our lives, and I'm thankful the Lord created animals---especially felines!
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25
Moses and Levi often take naps together. Their sister Delilah is a Calico and is beautiful, but she prefers to nap by herself!

Claiming Her Cowboy
My friend and talented Author Tina Radcliffe has written another book that I love. Claiming Her Cowboy is a contemporary romance and is the first in the Big Heart Ranch series (Love Inspired books). The story is set in Oklahoma on a ranch for orphans, and features a hero and heroine who keep things stirred up with their stubborn personalities. Add in a precious little boy named Dub who tugs at your heartstrings, and this story is a delight. I'm already looking forward to the other books in this series, and happily gave this book five stars!

A January Journey
A brand-new year began today, and lots of people are eager to start fresh---especially if this past year held many trials and difficulties for them. For me personally, 2017 held a most special blessing with the birth of my first grandbaby! I thank the Lord daily for this precious gift.
Since today is the first day of January, I made my usual list of goals for this coming year. Some years back I'd list goals such as exercise more, eat healthier, and be more organized. While these are very important---and I still plan on doing these---now my most important goal is in my spiritual life. I want to draw closer to the Lord, and do what HE would have me to do.
So I'm thinking of this as a sort of journey, and along the way I hope to grow stronger in my faith and also in my knowledge of the Bible. I'm currently reading all the way through my Bible for the sixth time, but what amazes me is how much I discover and learn with each re-reading! Even books of my Bible that I've read numerous times (such as Romans and Psalms) hold treasures that I feel I'm reading for the first time.
If you've made a list of goals for this new year, I hope you'll have success at accomplishing them. And whatever journey you're on, may it go smoothly and may you draw closer to the Lord.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

December and Dreams Coming True
December is such a lovely month---with the sights and sounds of Christmas all around us. Like many folks, my very favorite time of year is the Christmas season and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
With all the busyness going on, I really try to take time to think about the REAL "reason for the season"---and give thanks for that Baby born in humble beginnings who came to save us all.
This December is extra-special to me personally, because I'm preparing to celebrate my precious grandbaby's very first Christmas! Having my first grandchild born this year has been a dream-come-true for me.
Another dream-come-true has been signing my very first book contract, and I'm thrilled!
I give God all the glory for my blessings, and this year as I celebrate Christmas with joy, I will be extra-joyful for the special blessings and dreams that came true.
I hope you will have a wonderful Christmas celebration and will remember the special Baby whose birth changed the world. Merry Christmas!!
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Bringing Maggie Home
Author Kim Vogel Sawyer has been at the top of my "Favorite Authors List" since I discovered her books about eight years ago. I can truthfully say I have loved everything she's written, and her books remain on my Keeper Shelf.
Her most recent book, BRINGING MAGGIE HOME, is now my new favorite. This story is quite different from the other books she's written, but it's such a touching, heartwarming story that stays with the reader.
Over seventy years ago, a family was affected by the tragic, sudden disappearance of their very young daughter. That haunting mystery lasted decades, impacting the child's older sister most of all.
This book is based on that tragic incident, and features three generations of women: a grandmother, mother, and daughter. I don't want to give away any important details about the story, but will say this is a touching story of forgiveness and healing, and I highly recommend it.
Although I was given a copy, I've purchased another copy to give away. If you'd like to be entered in a drawing for a copy of BRINGING MAGGIE HOME, please leave a comment below!
